NFL greats will join NFL superstar and teach 16 aspiring playmakers from across America how football is really supposed to be played.
/24-7PressRelease/ – LOS ANGELES, CA, May 05, 2008 — Select Film Fund Management, LLC announced they have signed a distribution agreement with VERSUS, a national sports network in more than 74 million homes nationwide, for its first project, Legends Challenge The 10 episode, one-hour reality show is slated to debut in September 2008.
“NFL greats will join Heisman Trophy winner and NFL superstar Tim Brown to show a group of 16 aspiring playmakers from across America how football is really supposed to be played. Challenges and eliminations will leave only one champion – one legend,” Tony Reynolds, Select Film Fund founder and creator of the show, said. “It is like the football version of American Idol!”
“I am thrilled and excited about Legends Challenge. One of my aspirations is to be a General Manager,” Tim Brown, host and Co-Executive Producer of the series said. “Legends Challenge gives me a peek into that world.”
Brown is truly a football legend; while at Notre Dame, he was named consensus All-American, won the Walter Camp award and the Heisman Trophy. During his 17-year NFL career, Brown is the Raiders all-time leader in receiving yards and touchdowns, one of only three players in NFL history to eclipse the 1,000 yard reception mark and compiled the third longest reception streak. He started his NFL career as Rookie of The Year and ended having been named to nine Pro Bowl teams.
“We have combined the best elements of the consistently “hot” sports and reality genres, and are very excited that our show will air on VERSUS,” K. According to Street and Smith’s Sports Business Daily, football programming occupies nine of the top 10 spots on the list of cable’s biggest household audiences ever. “Football programming consistently leads in delivering the adult male on a total-day basis,” Reynolds said.
