(August 6th, 2008 – TMRZoo.com) For those of you unfamiliar with this Anheuser Busch offering, Budweiser announced in May it was bringing an American Ale to market. We here at The ManRoom Zoo are delighted to be one of the first media outlets to sample this fine new ale.
The color is a very light brown with a thin eggshell head. The aroma is hoppy with big grainy tones and a bit of toffee. The mouthfeel is light with lively carbonation and nice caramel malt washes the rolls over the tongue. The hops take over in the finish and get more hoppy and more bitter with each sip.
This could be a great session beer. Light enough to drink all night but with a huge flavor. This is in no way Budweiser with ale yeast, this is a whole new game.
I think this beer is going to make a huge splash in October when it hits the market. My next big question is how is Budweiser American Ale going to be packaged? Hopefully it will be available in cans and bottles. I can see Bud Ale cans iced down in my tailgating cooler already.
