Visitors to Foxwoods Resort Casino will soon have even more opportunities to win, thanks to Deal or No Deal. The popular NBC game show is holding auditions at the property on August 20 from 1 to 5 p.m., and US residents 18 and older with IDs are invited to participate.
“We here at Foxwoods and MGM Grand at Foxwoods love making people winners, and so does the Deal or No Deal team,” said Michael Speller, President of Mashantucket Pequot Gaming Enterprises (MPGE). “We’re thrilled to host auditions for Howie Mandel and his team and are crossing our fingers that one of our guests hits the show’s million-dollar jackpot.”
On Deal or No Deal, contestants select one of 26 sealed cases containing various amounts of money. Throughout the program, contestants must choose to either keep their cases or take an offer from the “banker.” The show offers players the chance to win cash prizes up to a million dollars using only their intuition and good old-fashioned luck.
To audition, potential contestants must be at least 18 years old and a legal resident of the 50 United States or Washington, DC. The auditions will be held in the Grand Ballroom on August 20, and callbacks will be on August 21. The casting crew is looking for enthusiastic, excited, and animated contestants with unique motivations for being on the show.
And even though it has yet to be determined if Howie Mandel will stop by, Foxwoods and MGM Grand at Foxwoods continue to draw some of the biggest names in entertainment, with a who’s who of upcoming headliners, including John Legend with special guest, India.Arie (August 8), The Steve Miller Band (August 22) and Donna Summer (August 28). And even when they’re not working, celebrities can still be spotted taking in all that the award-winning property has to offer, be it gaming (Poker Pro Beth Shak hosting a “Learn to Play” in the resort’s Rainmaker Casino), entertainment (Gossip Girl Star Jessica Szohr taking in a Sting concert at the MGM Grand Theater) or nightlife (reality TV star Tila Tequila partying at hot spots Scorpion Bar and Shrine), all in July alone.
Foxwoods Resort Casino and MGM Grand at Foxwoods offer the highest quality gaming options with a sensational lineup of new offerings including a slew of upcoming high profile poker tournaments. A charter member of the World Poker Tour (WPT) and home to New England’s only WPT-branded poker room, major upcoming events include Mega Stack Challenge XIII, scheduled for August 18 through 23, which boasts a guaranteed prize pool of $1 million, and Foxwoods World Poker Finals, the premier event of the fall season, running October 19 through November 10. Recently, the resort casino upped the ante with the unveiling of the newly-enhanced Great Cedar Casino. The improvements feature the addition of enhanced gaming options, including 24 new table games – two roulette tables, three 3-card poker tables, four mini-baccarat tables, two Spanish 21 games, three Pai Gow poker games, and 10 black-jack tables.
And late summer just got even hotter at Foxwoods Resort Casino and MGM Grand at Foxwoods, with sizzling array of spectacles in store including daily shows like “ILLUMINATION by Cirque Dreams,” a fantastical journey of the imagination from Broadway producer and director Neil Goldberg (every Sunday – Thursday at 7PM, and Wednesday at 2PM, from July-September in the MGM Theater) and “Legends in Concert,” the longest-running tribute show that features live recreations of yesterday’s and today’s superstars, including Madonna, Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Jay Leno and Tina Turner (every Tuesday – Saturday at 8PM, Tuesday at 2PM and Sunday at 4PM, from July-September in the Fox Theater), and the world-renowned “Bodies: The Exhibition,” a celebration of the amazing and complex machine that is the human body (July-September on the Mezzanine level of the Grand Pequot Tower).
