Louisville, KY – August 18, 2009 — McLain & Kyne distillers announce the release of Jefferson’s Presidential Select Bourbon, bottled during the last years of production of Louisville’s renowned Stitzel-Weller Distillery. Bottled at 94 proof, this ultra-rare, ultra-premium, 17-year-old bourbon is a limited offering complementing the existing line of Jefferson’s bourbons, Jefferson’s and Jefferson’s Reserve.
Produced by what many consider to be history’s finest bourbon distillery, Stitzel-Weller, Jefferson’s Presidential Select is a truly superlative offering. Tasting Notes: The nose is of big vanillas with full character, citrus, apple, subtle caramel and assorted nuts. The body is huge. English toffee, cinnamon, leather. Balanced and sultry. The finish is long and rounded. It is a “wheated” bourbon, meaning that wheat is used as a second grain (not rye), resulting in smooth flavors and graceful aging.
