NFL Week 15 Recap and “Beat the House” Results

wk15steelers1What the hell happened here? There were some “huh?” results in week 15 and a few of them had playoff ramifications. Nevertheless, we saw the House fall again by a 2-1 margin, losing a pair of prime time games to the membership. The overall records stunk this week with the members posting 9 wins to the House’s 8. The Madden 10 sim on the Xbox 360 picked only 6 correct. A terrible week for everyone considering 16 games are up for grabs. The season total still stands at 11 wins for the Members to 3 for the House… with only 2 more games to go until playoff time. Tune back in to make your week 16 NFL picks and predictions. Time’s almost up.

The season stats so far are:

* The House Madden Sim Members
Week 15: 8-8 6-10 9-7
2009 Overall: 130-78 117-91 142-66

Three games lie in the balance this week, two were guessed correctly by the members. Jax/Indy, GB/Pitt and Was/NYG were disagreed with. If David Garrard could hit the broad side of a barn with a football, the Jags would have beaten the Colts, but since he can’t the House loses. The second game was almost a loss for the House as well, until a desperation pass to the side of the endzone with 0:00 seconds left won the game for the Steelers.

We all saw how the Monday night adventure ended up. No need to rehash that one.

In case no one noticed, things have gotten pretty tight at the top of the leaderboard. After a bad week, we have a 162-162 tie at #1. At 5 picks behind, it looks like the second and third place members are a bit out of reach, but hey, anything can happen.

The second part of our competition, the Nickent Players of the Week, will be decided on Wednesday when the NFL announces the top performers for week 15. The prize is a full set of golf clubs and we actually had a winner in week 1. The odds are on your side, so go for it!

The rules for voting are going to change this week. We are going to keep voting open from Wednesday until kickoff Sunday as usual, but you you enter picks after kickoff Thursday, you aren’t getting credit for that first game like in past weeks. Get your picks in!
