2010 Major League Baseball Season: TMR Zoo MLB Double Play Contest – Week 2

dp-pujolsThe first entry period for the 2010 TMRzoo Double Play Contest is closed and the competition is officially under way. However, the second one week of voting closes, the next one immediately opens up. If you have no clue, what the TMRzoo Double Play Contest is, then just keep reading.

The two most popular guesses for the Major League Baseball team to score the most runs in the first week of the contest was not a surprise… they just played each other in the last World Series. The New York Yankees trounced the Philadelphia Phillies yet again by earning 21% of the votes this week compared the Phillies’ 13%

The most popular team for allowing the least amount of runs didn’t make much sense to me, but you can vote however you want. The Washington Nationals earned 14% of your votes… even though they play the high-scoring Phillies three times this week. The Arizona Diamondbacks were second in voting.

Once the season goes on, we’ll get a better picture as to which teams will score the runs, and which are more likely to let them up. It only gets more fun from here. Entering the Double Play couldn’t be easier. Essentially, all you need to do is pick two Major League Baseball teams. Using the drop down boxes on the entry page, pick the professional team you think will score the most runs in the upcoming week, then pick the team that will give up the least amount of runs. After you’ve selected your teams, guess the actual number of runs for each category in the fields provided. Each week we will update you on the top scoring teams in the league as well as the teams that allow the least amount of runs.

To win the week 2 prize, you must correctly identify the two teams. The scores you entered will be used to break any ties in the Double Play. The prize for week 2 is a copy of The Fourth Kind on DVD. See the prizing page for more details.

If nobody can guess the two teams correctly, then no one wins the prize and it rolls over into week 3… and combined with another prize. The longer we go without a weekly winner, the bigger the prize pack becomes.

Once you’ve entered the TMR Zoo Double Play, you are automatically entered into the Jagermeister Grand Slam. If you have correctly guessed the two teams AS WELL as the exact number of runs scored and allowed, you have hit the Jager Grand Slam and win the Jagermeister 6-Bottle Shot Cooler.
