Suds With Securb: Travis Hasse’s Original Apple And Cherry Pie Liqueurs

Travis Hasses Original Apple Pie LiqueurI have all kinds of interesting products coming across my desk on a daily basis. On any given day the UPS guy could be bringing a classic lager from a big brewer or an alcohol infused energy drink from a tiny niche brewer. Today what sits on my desk definitely goes I the unique column, Travis Hasse’s Original Pie Liqueurs.

The recipe for Travis Hasse’s Original Apple Pie Liqueur is the brain child of Gene Hasse. Gene passed the recipe down to his son Travis who started making it and serving it to patrons at his Missouri Tavern. Seeing he had an instant hit on his hands Travis launched a sister brand, Travis Hasse’s Original Cherry Pie Liqueur on his one year anniversary.

Travis Hasse’s Original Apple Pie has a cider like color. It is a light to medium amber and slightly cloudy. The aroma is of apples and cinnamon with a modest amount of alcohol in the nose. As advertised this is a glass of Apple Pie, there are so many ways to put this product to use.

Travis Hasse’s Original Apple Pie Liqueur could be consumed alone in a shot or a mixed shot with maybe a bit of Goldschlager? You could also mix this with vanilla vodka to make an awesome Apple martini.

This is a great stand alone desert drink though I know it would make a great reduction. A Travis Hasse’s Original Apple Pie Liqueur reduction would be awesome over vanilla ice cream or drizzled over Apple Brown Betty.

The Travis Hasse’s Original Cherry Pie Liqueur is just as outstanding though very different. The color is a sparkling clear ruby red. The nose is of fresh cherries and vanilla. This is nothing like those cherry infused brandies from days gone by. The aroma is very clean, distinct and crisp. Like the Apple Pie Liqueur this would be great in shots or martinis.

The Cherry Pie Liqueur would also be great for a reduction. I could see this reduced and glazed over some grilled kielbasa. I think a Travis Hasse’s Original Apple Pie reduction would be great over some grilled chicken. There are so many great applications for this brand. Bottom line is you can also simply pour it in a brandy snifter, kick back, relax, sip and enjoy.

Travis Hasse’s Website has a “Find The Pie” page to help you find their products.
