MTV Games and Harmonix have revealed the full song list for Rock Band 3, which will be including a new keyboard instrument. The songs range from the 1960’s through to the present, including new tracks from Jimi Hendrix, Avenged Sevenfold, Paramore, The White Stripes, Jane’s Addiction, Phish, Anthrax, The Cure, Bob Marley, Def Leppard, Ozzy Osbourne, Dire Straits, The Smiths, Foreigner, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Doors and many more. The game will be coming out October 26.
Personally, the songs that excite me are “The Power of Love” by Huey Lewis and the News, “Free Bird” by Lynyrd Skynyrd (last time I played it was in Guitar Hero II), “Space Oddity” by David Bowie, “In a Big Country” by Big Country, “Whip It” by Devo, “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears for Fears, “Smoke on the Water” by Deep Purple, and “Plush” by Stone Temple Pilots.
Now that you have to deal with keyboards, you can bet the killer song for that instrument will be Elton John’s “Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting”. Other songs that will be making serious use of the instrument will be “Sister Christian” by Night Ranger, “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen, and “Break on Through (To the Other Side)” by The Doors.
It’ll also be really cool to see what songs get retrofitted for the keyboard from Rock Band 1, Rock Band 2 and the other DLC.
