One of my week 7 picks and predictions that is near a 50/50 split in fan voting is the Green Bay Packers beating the Minnesota Vikings. Of course, the game has many soap opera story lines and sub-plots including the latest controversy in the NFL, the Brett Favre sexting scandal.
It is amazing that “Brett Favre returns to face Green Bay” has already taken a back seat to him sending pictures of his penis to the smokin’ hot Jen Sterger. Still, there is a game to be played and I’m calling it the Packers game, beating Favre for the first time in a non-Green Bay uniform.
Both the Chicago Bears and the Packers started the season with a 3-1 record while the Vikings did the opposite at 1-3. It looked like the Vikes were about to be buried in the division, but in week 6, both Chicago and Green Bay lost while Minnesota beat the Dallas Cowboys. This could have been a game where the Packers buried Favre, but not after last week. Actually, the Vikings can pull ahead of the Packers in the standings with a win.
All things being considered, I’m still going with the Pack to finally drop Favre. Scandal aside, the old man just doesn’t seem to have his stuff together this season. I know, he now has Randy Moss to throw to, but he can be taken out of the game fairly easily. Look for the Packers defense, especially the beat Clay Matthews, to get to Favre early making him force some throws in the second half of the game… and we all know how that turns out.
Packers win this one is a blowout. Take the Pack, minus whatever the points are, as well as the over. Disagree? Head on over to our Beat the House page and enter your vote. At the time this article was posted, just over 40% of readers disagreed with the pick.
