Mortal Kombat Collectors Edition Gets Release Date For Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360

Warner Brothers Interactive has announced that Mortal Kombat will be released sometime in April 2011, and two special editions will be released alongside the regular edition as well.

One will be called the Kollector’s Edition and will come with two figurines – Sub-Zero and Scorpion – a collectible art book, and Klassic costumes and Avatar skins. and downloadable content that will add “Klassic” costume skins and avatar costumes.

A limited Tournament Edition edition will be released, aimed at the serious Mortal Kombat player. It will come with the downloadable content found in the Kollector’s Edition and a special fight stick controller. Only 20,000 copies of the Tournament edition will be available.

The title will also have multiple preorder offers from various outlets. GameStop will be giving away a classic Scorpion skin along with the character’s original fatality move. Best Buy is offering the same type of DLC, but with Sub-Zero. Amazon is offering the Reptile skin and fatality. It’s unknown yet whether these are the same DLC items found in the special editions.
