2010 NFL Playoffs – Week 15 Playoff Scenarios: Atlanta Falcons and Jacksonville Jaguars Are “Win and In”

Two more teams, The Atlanta Falcons and Jacksonville Jaguars, can clinch a playoff spot for themselves by simply winning this weekend. The Falcons would lock up at least a wildcard berth, while a Jaguars win over the Indianapolis Colts would guarantee them the AFC South Title.

Last week, the New England Patriots locked up a playoff berth by destroying the Chicago Bears in the snow, but still need additional help to win their division. A win and a Jets loss would not only give them the AFC East championship, but guarantee them a first-round bye.

Eight more teams can guarantee their spot in the 2010 NFL Playoffs, but all but the two teams mentioned above do not control their own destiny. In the AFC, the Steelers can do anything from securing a wild card berth to locking in a first-round bye. The Jaguars, Ravens and Jets can also clinch spots in the post-season should the right scenarios happen for them.

In the NFC, only the Atlanta Falcons, New York Giants, Chicago Bears and New Orleans Saints can lock-in playoff spots with this weekend’s results, but only the Bears can wrap up their division should the right scenario play out. The Saints and Giants need a win and multiple other losses to reserve their spots.

Below are the exact team-by-team scenarios and what they can secure with this weekend’s results:
