Hop Scotch Spring Beer and Scotch Festival is a premier beer, Scotch, wine and tequila tasting experience benefiting the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF).

The unique festival features over 80 beers, wines and spirits and allows guests to interact with beverage experts to discover their true palette and develop their sense of taste during the two-day event.

General Admission to the event is $25 ($20 in advance) and includes tokens to sample beer and wine. Over 60 handcrafted microbrews, import beers and wines are served at one of the first tastings featuring new spring collections.

For an expanded tasting experience spirit samplers of Scotch or tequila may be purchased.

“The spirit sampler first started with the introduction of Scotch allowing guests to experience another craft malt beverage,” says Phil Megenhardt, Event Producer. “From the success of the Scotch tasting experience we have expanded to our second spirit – Tequila.”

With Cinco de Mayo less than two weeks after the festival, Hop Scotch gives guests the perfect opportunity to discover their tequila of choice for the Mexican celebration of heritage and pride.

The Spirit Samplers are $10 and include a self-guided flight of five – 1/4oz tastes. In both experiences experts will be on hand to answer questions.

For guests looking for a more in depth knowledge of Scotch, Scotch Seminars feature an hour long experience with Ari Shapiro, one of only 15 experts in the United States to earn the distinction of “Master of Whisky”. The experience introduces guests to the complete range of taste experiences, which includes 8-¼ oz. single malts, blends and vatted whiskies for only $30.

Hop Scotch Spring Beer and Scotch Festival is a benefit for SIFF. SIFF’s mission is to create experiences that bring people together to discover extraordinary films from around the world. It is through the art of cinema that we foster a community that is more informed, aware, and alive. The 36th annual Seattle International Film Festival dates are May 20th-June 13th.
