“We are very excited about bringing our beers over the border into Ohio. We have had a few places where our beer has been available over the past few years and the demand in the rest of the state has just been incredible,” said Matt Cordle, sales and marketing manager for Kentucky Ale. “Lots of our loyal fans have been making the trek to Kentucky from all over Ohio and we are happy to become more convenient to Ohio as well as her surrounding states. We have a lot going on this year and this is just another one of many exciting happenings for Alltech’s Lexington Brewing Company in 2010.”

Kentucky Ale, Kentucky Light and Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale are Lexington’s only locally-brewed beers. Located in the heart of downtown, Alltech’s Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company has been creating award-winning beers since 2000 when its flagship beer, Kentucky Ale, was released. Kentucky Light debuted in 2003, and Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale completed Kentucky’s Triple Crown of Beers in 2006. Past awards include a silver and a bronze medal at the Great American Beer Festival and “Best of the Bluegrass” for 4 consecutive years.

Awards are not the only things distinguishing these brews from the rest. All three beers have the distinction of being the official beer of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, taking place in Lexington, Kentucky September 25 to October 10, 2010. “We couldn’t be more proud of our beers as we gear up for the biggest event to hit the U.S. since the 2002 Winter Olympics. We know that we will be providing the highest quality beers and our awards solidify that,” said Alltech president and founder, Pearse Lyons.

With such success, Alltech’s Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company is taking the next step preparing to launch their first distilled beverage. This malted whiskey, called Pearse Lyons Reserve, will be the first distilled drink to come from Alltech’s Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company. And it will not be the last! At this moment, Alltech’s Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is patiently aging for its launch in 2011.
