Academy Award-winning actor Benicio Del Torro stopped by the Howard Stern show on Thursday to promote his new movie Wolfman. If you recall his first visit to the Stern Show in January of 2009, you’ll remember a very laid-back vibe Benicio gave off, so much so that Artie Lange even lit up a cigarette in the studio. This interview was not much different.
Howard touched on several topics but the one thing he was consistent about was creating a “love connection” between Del Toro and sidekick Robin Quivers. Stern kept pushing the issue with questions like “Have you ever had a black woman?” Benicio’s answer was yes, but he didn’t bite on any of the opportunities to ask Robin out. Howard finally, and bluntly, asked, “What’s Robin gotta do to have sex with you?” Benicio’s answer was a quiet, “I’m too jet-lagged to answer that question.” Robin had been commenting all week about how much she was “in to” Benicio.
Aside from Robin, Howard also asked Del Toro about the Wolfman and the implication by Terry Gilliam that Benicio was a pain in the ass to work with. Gilliam called Del Toro “needy” after they worked together on Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Benicio dismissed the comments as being “old.”
Finally, Howard predicted that Wolfman would be #1 at the box office this weekend, but Benicio was somewhat dismissive of the idea, commenting that it might be tough because the movie is rated R.
