It’s now been over a week since the New Orleans Saints were crowned Superbowl Champions for the 2009/2010 NFL Season. That means that the order for the 2010 NFL Draft has been determined… well, almost. In a rare event, the 10th, 16th and 19th picks still have to be determined by the flip of a coin. That’s right, three pairs of teams finished in a dead tie in the standings, even after three tie-breakers (strength of schedule, division record, conference record).
The 10th and 11th picks will be decided between the Broncos, who acquired the Bears’ pick, and the Jaguars. 16 and 17 will be between the 49ers, who have the Panthers’ pick, and the Titans, and 19/20 will be a coin flip battle between the Falcons and Texans.
The NFL Draft will kick off in prime time for the first time in 2010. The first round will be held on Thursday, April 22 at 7:30 PM ET at Radio City Music Hall in New York. The second and third rounds are set for Friday, April 23 at 6:30 PM ET. Rounds 4-7 will be held on Saturday, April 24 at 10:00 AM ET. We’ll see if that will still be the case for the 2011 NFL Draft… it all depends on the ratings this year’s edition receives.
