After a month and half of speculation, debate and daily voting, The TMR Zoo’s Cam Newton Draft Contest is over and we have our answer. Just as most of the “experts” had been predicting in the final week before the draft, Cam Newton was selected first overall in the 2011 NFL Amateur Draft by the Carolina Panthers. We finally have our answer to the question the contest was based on, and now it’s time to see if anyone guessed it correctly.
Unlike last year’s NFL draft contest, which was featured around Tim Tebow, where only 2 entrants guessed the correct answer, this year 25% of a field of thousands of entries picked correctly. Therefore, per the posted rules, a winner will be selected at random from the vast field of correct entries.
And the winner is… RasAlGhul89. Ras has won the Oscar-winning prize pack of DVDs and Blu-rays as announced on the contest entry page. We listed several of the different types of strategies you could use in entering the contest, such as putting all of your eggs in one basket, or entering as many different combinations as you can to maximize your reach. Our winners put all of his eggs in one basket by entering the Carolina Panthers and round 1 on EVERY single one of his daily entries. A winning strategy? Well, only if you guess correctly.

Each year at the TMR Zoo around NFL draft time, one contest ends and another begins. Now that the featured player contest, and te NFL Draft is over, we can now launch our exclusive “First Picked, Last Signed” contest.
In this new contest, you must guess which player drafted in the first round of the recently completed draft, will be the very last to sign with the team that drafted him. The current state of the NFL only adds to the variables in this contest. Just like the Cam Newton contest, you can enter this one every single day up until the second-to-last player drafted is signed. Also like the Cam contest, you can submit different answers each day, or stick to the one you are most confident in. The choice is yours.
