Southern Living Launches The Big Book of BBQ App

Southern Living announces the launch of The Big Book of BBQ App for the iPad®. It will be available for $7.99 through July 4th and then $12.99 thereafter on the App Store.

“This is the ultimate tool for BBQ fanatics and newbies alike,” said Southern Living editor Lindsay Bierman. “No matter what kind of ‘cue you’re into, you’ll find all the recipes and tips you need to wow the crowd every time.”

With Memorial Day around the corner, it’s grilling season. More than half of all Southerners own a grill or other BBQ equipment, according to MRI Doublebase.

Consumers can navigate through the App via an easy, interactive Table of Contents. The App features over 100 recipes and dozens of special tricks, tips and techniques headlined as: “Tips from the Pitmaster,” “‘Que and A” and “Tools of the Trade.”

Video and audio clips featuring step-by-step advice and how-to demos by contributing editor and award-winning barbecue chef Troy Black are included. Information is presented via seven easy-to-use recipe chapters: How to BBQ, Low and Slow, Speed BBQ, Scrumptious Sides, Sweet Stuff and Sauces, Rubs ‘n Marinades, plus a summary of video and audio tips.

The App is based on the brand’s best-selling book: Big Book of BBQ: Recipes and Revelations from the Barbecue Belt.
