Let’s all agree that Stephen Glover or “Steve O” from Jackass is an idiot. That being said the Mtv jester and Jackass star may have gone too far at the Roast of Charlie Sheen. Steve made a joke about the victims of the Station Nightclub fire in Rhode Island. The fire that claimed the lives of over 100 Great White fans and the band’s guitarist Ty Longely.
Steve O delivered the line at Roast for Charlie Sheen “The last time this many nobodies got roasted, at least the band Great White was playing.” No one the planet expects Steve O to show an ounce of intelligence. Still a 5 year old would know that referring to a group of innocent victims that died a senseless and violent death “nobodies” is not cool.
Steve O then upped the ante and would not take ownership for his comment. Steve O posted on Facebook: “I feel horrible about it. I initially ran the joke by some other comics, as an example of one that I WOULDN’T say. Every comic that I told it to said, you HAVE to use that joke … I’m so glad that the producers have already taken it out.”
What makes this more disturbing is Steve O recently had a close friend of his burn to death. Jackass co-star Ryan Dunn crashed his Porsche and died in the flaming wreckage earlier this summer. It makes me wonder how Steve O would have reacted is someone made a reference to Ryan Dunn burning to death or “roasting” at the Roast for Charlie Sheen.
The Roast for Charlie Sheen is scheduled to air Sept. 19.
