Pipeline Porter Comes Back For Its Sixth Season

Can you smell what’s brewing? That’s the return of Pipeline Porter, now in its sixth year as part of Kona Brewing Company’s Aloha Series. This rich porter is brewed with freshly roasted Kona coffee from the Cornwell Estate Coffee plantation, Kona Coast neighbors of the Kona Brewery.
Inspired by Oahu’s steep and deep Banzai Pipeline, Pipeline Porter will be firing onto grocer’s shelves and tavern taps throughout the US mainland and Hawaii, mid-September through January 2011. Pipeline Porter pairs perfectly with winter favorites such as hearty soups and stews, roast beef sandwiches, pot roast and mashed potatoes. You could also chase away your winter doldrums by dropping heaps of rich vanilla bean ice cream into frothy Pipeline Porter for a creamy dessert float, or by visiting us at our Kona Pub, where Pipeline is served year-round.

“We’re proud that the demand for this brew has been incredibly strong for six years,” said Kona Brewing Company president Mattson Davis. “This year, we are hot off a victory at the 2011 US Beer Tasting Championships Winter Competition, where Pipeline Porter won Best of the Northwest/Pacific Region in the coffee beer category. It looks like it will be a warm winter for Pipeline Porter!”

Pipeline Porter has 5.4% ABV and an IBU of 30. You can find where Pipeline Porter is sold in stores and on draught with Kona Brewing’s online beerfinder and app available on iTunes.

About Kona Brewing
Kona Brewing Company was started in the spring of 1994 by father and son team Cameron Healy and Spoon Khalsa, who had a dream to create fresh, local island brews made with spirit, passion and quality. It is a Hawaii-born and Hawaii-based craft brewery that prides itself on brewing the freshest beer of exceptional quality, closest to market. This helps to minimize its carbon footprint by reducing shipping of raw materials, finished beer and wasteful packaging materials. The brewery is headquartered where it began, in Kailua-Kona on Hawaii’s Big Island. It has grown into Hawaii’s largest brewery, has three restaurant sites in Hawaii and beer distribution reaching 28 states and Japan. It is the 13th largest craft brewery in the country.
