It’s almost that time of year again, when thousands of beer enthusiasts from across the region make their annual Labor Day weekend pilgrimage to the Savannah Craft Brew Fest — but this year there’s even more to celebrate.
For the first time, the entire city will celebrate the finer points of beer with the Savannah Craft Brew Week. Savannah will devote a week to the specialty beers from Sunday, August 26 to Sunday, September 2, 2012. Enjoy seven days of specials as our local hotels, restaurants, pubs and stores break out their top-shelf craft brews, beer-based recipes, accommodation offers and more.
August 31, enjoy a beautiful view of the Savannah River while tasting craft beers from around the world at the International Grand Tasting from 6 – 9 p.m. This popular event, hosted by the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa recognizes the impact that Old World and other international brewers have on American beers. The Grand Tasting Festival will be on the Esplanade at the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center on Saturday, September 1 from Noon to 5 p.m. The event will feature offerings from more than 45 breweries, live music, including the sweet sounds of Chuck Courtenay and Bottles and Cans, good food and more!
The 2012 Savannah Craft Brew Fest will be extending the party for another day — and adding a little beat. And on tap for Sunday, September 2, is the first Savannah Rhythm & Brews — a Savannah Craft Brew Fest live outdoor concert with the Heavy Pets, Stokeswood and Jason D. Williams, as well as Sister Hazel and the North Mississippi Allstars! Gates will open at 2 p.m., with music from 3 – 10 p.m.
