The summer of 2012 is coming to a quick close and that means one thing… we are ready to kick off another NFL football season. With the start of the NFL season comes the opening of our marquee contest here at TMR Zoo… Beat the House.
The 2012 edition of our Beat the House pick’em contest is going to be our biggest and best yet. We have not only completely revamped the look of the contest page, but have vastly improved the entire user interface to make it a much more user friendly and fun experience for all participants. Since everything is new, you’ll have to re-register for the contest, even if you have been a member during previous seasons. Don’t worry, all we need is a username, an email address to contact you at if you win a prize and for you to pick a password. No other information is needed. Please use your old username if you are a BTH veteran… so we know who we are dealing with.
Along with the improvements to the look and feel of Beat the House, we have also added the biggest and best grand prize to date… a beer kegerator! That’s right, the grand prize winner of this year’s BTH will get a Kegerator from GreatGiftsForMen.com.
We also have plenty of weekly and random prizes to award this year. As always, when the collective membership’s correct picks is more than that of “The House”, the top prognosticator will receive a prize. Weekly and “special task” prizes will be announced each week.
This contest has gotten so big, that it now has its own Facebook Page. Make sure you like the page to get the latest prize updates and entry deadline reminders.
There is one rule change that will mix things up and keep entrants interested for a longer period of time this year. This season, having the most correct picks doesn’t guarantee you the grand prize. We are instituting a playoff-style runoff at the end of the season that will include 16 winning entrants. The top 10 players with the most correct picks automatically make the playoffs, and there will be 6 additional “wild card” playoff spots. Two of those spots will go to the contestants who have earned the Beat the House Facebook Page the most likes.
