NFL Thursday Night Football: The Chicago Bears vs. Green Bay Packers

Thursday Night Football is finally here. This season TNF starts week two this year instead of November. The big question this September Thursday is can or will the Green Bay Packers drop two in a row at Lambeau Field for the first time since 2008. Green Bay’s biggest rival The Chicago Bears showed a monster rushing attack during their trouncing of the Indianapolis Colts. Matt Forte and Michael Bush put on a show, combining for 180 Yards and 3 Touchdowns. Jay Cutler also looked great on Sunday racking up 41 points on offence and hooking up with Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery on 2 TD passes.

For the first time in years there are question marks when it comes to Green Bay’s offence. Aaronn Rodgers just couldn’t catch-up with the 49ers scoring. Granted Aaron Rodgers  didn’t get much help from his defense, but this is the guy we are used to watching throw 3, 4 ,5 touchdowns per game. Aaron Rodger told NFL Network’s Deion Sanders “It’s one game. It’s a new season. We played a good opponent. They beat us,” Rodgers added “We’re not worried about that. We’re trying to get better every week but there’s no panic in the locker room.” The Vegas odds makers are not panicking either.

The Vegas odds on the game look like this. Opening Point Spread: Green Bay -5.5, Current Betting Line: Green Bay -5, Opening Total: 49, Current Total: 49.5. This tells me Vegas is not expecting a Jay Cutler/Aaron Rodgers shootout, but I am. My pick? I like The Bears and the over. Green Bay will be a playoff team this year. Dropping two in a row at home may be the motivation they need to make it happen.
