Did anything interesting happen in week 3? Nothing? Not even on Monday Night Football?
It is not a good sign when there is more talk of bad officiating than there is regarding play on the field. If you take out the referee drama, it has been a pretty boring season so far. I’m sure it is not boring for the folks involved with the estimated $300,000,000 changing hands as a result of a bad officiating call.
As far as our “Beat the House” contest is concerned, the House had a horrible week again… however, since the average of member correct picks was 7, the House was not beaten. Normally, when the House wins, no prizes are awarded. Since the fans are already taking a huge beating with this NFL season, we are still going to award a movie prize pack to this week’s top pick set, gmforbes, who was able to get 12 correct in this crazy week. Congrats!
Ok, time to turn the page to week 4. The House has already posted his picks and now it is your turn to enter yours. You can review the House picks on the Beat the House results page for week 4… they will be the only picks visible to you other than your own.
The big pick of the week appears to be a very angry Green Bay team sending the Saints packing to an 0-4 start.
As for our Beat the House contest, this season, having the most correct picks doesn’t guarantee you the grand prize. We have instituted a playoff-style runoff at the end of the season that will include 16 winning entrants. The top 10 players with the most correct picks automatically make the playoffs, and there will be 6 additional “wild card” playoff spots. Two of those spots will go to the contestants who have earned the Beat the House Facebook Page the most likes. See the Beat the House official rules page for all of the details and specific rule changes.
Don’t worry if you’ve missed out on the first three weeks, you still have 14 more to go with plenty of weekly and random prizes to win as well as a wild card playoff berth.
Good luck and enjoy our week 4 expert picks and predictions and the 2012 edition of NFL Football and Beat the House!
