Week 4 of the 2012 NFL season went a little more closer to script than the previous three weeks. Overall, we had some pretty damn good pick sets with a good many entrants getting only one or two wrong for the week. The average correct number of picks for members was 9.8. As you can see, The House earned 10 picks correct… therefore, the House was not beaten.
Again, since it was a good week for most, we’ll award a prize even though the House won. Three contestants picked 14 out of 15 correct in week 4, but after the tie-breakers it is rize who wins the week with a 65% accuracy rate. That % is second-best in the game. Congrats, raze, we will contact you.

Now, on to week 5. The House has made its picks, now it is your turn. There are a few interesting match ups on the card this weekend. Fortunately, the two most interesting are the Sunday and Monday prime-time games. Sunday night has the New Orleans Saints hosting Drew Brees’ former team, the San Diego Chargers. The Saints are still looking for their first win, and need one before it is too late. The Falcons lead their division at 4-0 and that may be too big a bridge to span, even this early in the season.
Monday night is the Jets hosting the Houston Texans. Last week the Jets were totally annihilated by the Niners… and get just as pesky a defense this week with the Texans. I think the fans will be chanting for Tebow early and often in this contest.
As for our Beat the House contest, this season, having the most correct picks doesn’t guarantee you the grand prize, so the field is wide open. We have instituted a playoff-style runoff at the end of the season that will include 16 winning entrants. The top 10 players with the most correct picks automatically make the playoffs, and there will be 6 additional “wild card” playoff spots. Two of those spots will go to the contestants who have earned the Beat the House Facebook Page the most likes. See the Beat the House official rules page for all of the details and specific rule changes.
Don’t worry if you’ve missed out on the first four weeks, you still have 13 more to go with plenty of weekly and random prizes to win as well as a wild card playoff berth.
