Tonight the undefeated Arizona Cardinals (0-4) take on the St. Louis Rams (2-2) live on the NFL Network. This could be an interesting matchup for a couple of reasons. Last week the Cards young offensive line had a tough time containing the Miami Dolphin’s pass rushers. Is Miami getting that much better or is there finally enough tape on the new look Rams to dissect their offence. I think it may be a little of both. This young offense will be put to test again tonight.
The St. Louis Rams defense is not a top 5 or even top 10 outfit; actually they are in the middle of the pack with all stats. Last week against Seahawks rookie quarterback Russell Wilson the Rams didn’t looks so mediocre. The Rams picked off Russell Wilson 3 times during last week’s outing. Interceptions seem to be one stat where the Rams are not middle of the pack, there are second in the league behind the Chicago Bears.
Giving the Rams a huge impact on defense will be Rookie first-round pick Michael Brockers. The Arizona Cardinals young line is a perfect test for this LSU product considered to be the best pass rusher in the 2012 NFL Draft. If Brockers can at least hurry Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb the Rams ball-hawks will take care of the rest.
On the other side of the field, the Arizona Cardinals are what their record says they are. I am as amazed as the next man at this amazing run the Cardinals are having. What makes the Arizona Cardinals run move impressive is they are betting good-great teams, the Seahawks, Patriots, Eagles and steadily improving Miami Dolphins. My gut tells me this run continues tonight as the Arizona Cardinals go to (5-0). Get ready for the undefeated season chatter to start coming out of the desert on Friday morning.
