Here is your injury report, odds and predictions for tonight’s Thursday Night Football matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks. The Seattle Seahawks come into this game the healthier team. The San Francisco 49ers have twice the injuries as their opponent and the injury list is prepped with the names for marquee players.
For the Seahawks DT Clinton McDonald had full participation in practice despite a groin injury and is listed as probable. The Seahawks secondary is taking a hit as safety Kam Chancellor (Ankle) and CB Byron Maxwell (Hamstring) both made the list. Chancellor is listed as probable. Maxwell did not participate in practice and is listed as doubtful. The one player definitely out for tonight’s prime time Thursday Night Football game is guard John Moffitt.
The San Francisco 49ers injury woes seem a bit more serious. Quarterback Alex Smith makes the list for a right finger injury, we all know Alex will be suiting up. Mr. Automatic kicker David Akers did not participate in practice due to illness but is listed as probable. Both punter Andy Lee (Hand) and linebacker Tavares Gooden (Elbow) full participation in practice and are listed as probable.
Where the San Francisco 49ers injury report looks troubling starts with running back Brandon Jacob being listed as questionable because of a knee injury. Wide receiver Mario Manningham (Shoulder) and tackle Joe Staley (Concussion )are all listed as questionable. The good news is all three had full participation in practice.
The San Francisco 49ers are a +7 favorite to win this game. The over and under is set at 37.5. I like the 49er but don’t think they will cover a +7 point spread. My money is on the Seahawks with the point and the over. I see the 49ers with the win I just do not see them covering.
