The Steelers enter this contest sporting a 2-3 record, one win behind the Bengals’ 3-3. The Steelers have been plagued with injuries and the fact that their bye week has already come and gone is not helping things. Also not in Pittsburgh’s favor is that they have not won a road game yet this season. In fact, they’ve lost their past 7 games away.
The Bengals don’t have too much momentum in their favor either. They are coming off two straight losses, both at the hands of arguably inferior teams. They’ve allowed 27 points or more in three of their first six games.
Injuries play a much bigger factor for the Steelers in this game. Both Rashard Mendenhall (Achilles) and Isaac Redman (ankle), essentially the Pittsburgh running game, did not practice all week. At this point, both are expected to play, but to what capacity will only be learned once they take the field.
