Here at TMRZoo.com we have a thinly veiled policy that steers us away from commentating on politics or religion. In the case of the Westboro Baptist Church, they are neither. This morning a new low for Westboro Baptist Church was announced on their website. Westboro Baptist Church plans to travel to Sandy Hook Elementary School.
Westboro Baptist Church posted on its website GodHatesFags.com “Connecticut Justly Judged! Thank God for the shooter(s?) at Sandy Hook Elementary School, Newtown, Connecticut.” the post then tried to defend the hateful statement by saying “Fag Marriage dooms nations! Connecticut is one of nine states with Fag Marriage on your books. Repent, put it away, or look for your full, complete destruction!”
The church has picketed the funerals of fallen military heroes, celebrities including Jackass’ Ryan Dunn, heavy metal icon Ronnie James Dio and even Comic-Con. In the case of Comic-Con the group claimed God Hates Nerds.
In an ultimate Revenge of the Nerds move hackers collective Anonymous has hacked Westboro Baptist Church. Upon hearing news of Westboro Baptist Church’s Sandy Hook Elementary School plans, Anonymous launched an attack on Phelps and crew. Anonymous has posted church members’ information online, including phone numbers and e-mail addresses. I am very aware that hacking is an illegal activity but hearing about Anonymous’ dope smack on Fred Phelps and company – I got a warm and fuzzy.
What happened at Sandy Hook Elementary School is one of the biggest tragedies in our nation’s history. This is a time for us to come together as a community and a nation to support these 26 families as they bury their children and loved ones. This is not a time to politicize this tragedy. The Westboro Baptist Church has pushed the envelope too far this time. I get the felling Anonymous won’t be the last group to let them know this.
