Manti Te’o 2013 NFL Draft Contest: We Have A Winner!

As the name Manti Te’o was called on Friday during the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft, our contest officially came to a close. It was the San Diego Chargers who stepped up with the 38th overall pick to select the controversial Notre Dame linebacker.

Manti Te’o was predicted to go in the first round of the draft to teams picking in the latter half such as the Chicago Bears at #20 or the Baltimore Ravens at #32. Since both teams passed him over for other players, a team that hadn’t previously been on the radar, the San Diego Chargers, stepped up and grabbed Te’o before any of the projected teams were able to pick again.

The correct answer to the Contest question is:

Manti Te’o was selected in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers

Very few contestants had this as their guess. As mentioned, it was almost a guarantee that Manti would be selected in the first round by someone, so the entries were heavily weighted in favor of round 1. Out of the thousands of entries submitted, five contestants guessed the correct combination… so out of those entries we randomly select and name. And the winner is:

Robert Haffner

Congrats Robert.

With the conclusion of this great contest, comes another… our annual “First Picked, Last Signed” contest. This time, you are going to guess which of the 32 first round draft picks will be the very last to sign with the team that selected them. Since he fell to early in the second round, sorry, Manti Te’o is not a correct answer.

Stay tuned for the official announcement of the start of the contest and what the prize is… and it is a good one.

Thanks for playing the Manti Te’o 2013 NFL Draft Contest, and good luck in all of our other contests.
