Sixteen games down, 240 to go. Week 1 is in the rear-view mirror so now it’s time for all of the so-called experts to offer their free NFL picks for week 2. (At least we give you prizes when our predictions are wrong) Unfortunately, there does not appear to be too many sexy games on the week 2 NFL schedule.
Before you even start to consider the Thursday Night Football game possibly be a good one, think again. The Patriots always have a tough time with the Bills early and the Jets are a bad team, despite their week 1 win. Pats win in a rout, and that’s all we have to say ’bout that.
The marquee day game on Sunday SHOULD have been the Washington Redskins visiting the Green Bay Packers… but the Redskins looked so damn bad on Monday Night Football, they don’t deserve the attention. It was quickly apparent that RG3 was rusty and not very confident. The Washington running game will look better against Green Bay, but the Redskin defense will fare just as bad, if not worse, against the Packers’ offense. Green Bay wins their home opener. With a week 3 game against the Lions, the Redskins may just find themselves in quite the hole if the rust doesn’t come off more quickly.
Finally, in the Sunday Night Football game, we will be treated to a divisional 2012 playoff team grudge match between the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers. Seattle hosts as a 3-point favorite. Remember, the Seahawks crushed the Niners in Seattle last season to the tune of 42-13 in week 16. It wasn’t a throw-away game either, San Fran needed the win. Our experts don’t think it will be quite the blowout again, but the Seahawks are going to steal this one and grab control of the division that they might not let up in 2013.
You can review the other 13 week 2 free NFL picks by clicking the link above. You will also have the opportunity to enter your own picks in our “Beat the House” contest which could earn you a chance to win tickets to this season’s Super Bowl, courtesy of Crown Royal.
The “Final Four” contestants in our playoffs, which will be after the divisional round of the NFL playoffs, will each receive a pair of high quality sunglasses from Maui Jim.
This week’s winner will receive a DVD or Blu-ray prize pack, whichever your preference.
Your Thursday Night game pick will need to be entered by kickoff of that game, but the rest are not due until kickoff of the remaining games on Sunday. We will update our free NFL Picks for week 2 if anything changes in the next few days.
