What an amazing time of the year in football. Last night, many teams went to bed with the visions of playoffs, still their heads. Today, more tickets can be punched and more tickets can be lost. Some fans will get exactly what they want, others will receive that giant bag of coal. Before we get to that, lets look back at Week 15. We went 2-1, but lost our big bet, so we only gained +0.4 units. Our yearly total is 26-22 and + 17.11 units. Riots Rundown went 7-3, bringing that total to 94-55. Now let’s take a look at make or break Week 16.
Dallas Cowboys @ Washington Redskins (-2.5): Its that time again. Time for the wheels to fall off for the Dallas Cowboys. It’s felt that way for a few weeks now. Surprisingly, if Dallas would have held on to win last week, and the won this week combined with an Eagles loss, Dallas could have had the division today. Dallas has bigger problems though. The defense didn’t force a punt at all vs the Bears and gave up a touchdown on every single 2nd half drive vs the Packers. Fed Ex field is always a tough place for Dallas to play and today is no different. It could get ugly. Redskins +125 4 units.
New Orleans Saints @ Carolina Panthers (-3): If you wanna talk about line movement, talk about this game. The line opened at Panthers -7! The public has pushed this game to -3 because they won’t stop betting on the Saints. I know the Saints won the last game in dominating fashion and Drew Brees is better than Cam Newton, but you have to read the books. I was dead set on the Saint’s until I saw the line movement. In the words of Breaking Bad’s Saul Goodman, some people are allergic to good advice. Don’t be that person! Saints are a horrible road team this year.
Panthers -3 risk 4 units.
New England Patriots @ Baltimore Ravens (-2): Here is another mind fuck by the books. Think Patriots and what comes to mind? Potential Super Bowl Champion ? Think Ravens and what comes to mind? Bust team that is not good with out their stud defense. The truth is, the Patriots have a good record, but they are barely scrapping by. Tom Brady is having his lowest completion % since 2004. Not really his fault considering how bad his receivers are. All four of New England’s losses were nail bitters. In fact, three of them weren’t over until Tom Brady’s passes were intercepted in the end zone. New England isn’t a great road team. They are 3-4 on the road and have won those 3 games by a combined 12 point. Baltimore is on a bit of a roll and I think they make a statement today. I think they win big. Baltimore -2 to win 3 units.
