This morning on his radio show on satellite radio, Howard Stern announced that “Howard Stern’s Birthday Bash” will be streamed on SiriusXM.com and HowardStern.com completely free to EVERYONE, not just SiriusXM subscribers. All you have to do is go to either site, click the link to listen, and enjoy the show! No registrations or forms to fill out. Howard stated that the entire broadcast day will be free, not just the show.
“Howard Stern’s Birthday Bash” is an uber-exclusive party celebrating Howard’s 60th birthday. The party will be at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on the evening of January 31, 2014… the Friday of Super Bowl weekend. The broadcast starts at 4:00pm EST with a two-hour pre-show featuring red carpet interviews and other Stern Show-fare. The main “party” starts at 6:00pm EST and will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. Other guests include Louis C.K., David Letterman and Sarah Silverman, with musical performances by Jon Bon Jovi, John Fogerty, Steven Tyler and more.
We’ve been trying to score access to the event since it was announced, but it is so exclusive that even some of the spouses of the longtime show staff, such as Gary “Baba Booey” Dell’Abate, are on a waiting list to attend. Howard has been having contests to give away invites for a few months now, and that appears to be the only way for fans to have access. You can still win tickets here.
There are no tickets for the event, only a guest list, so if you see a pair for sale on Ebay or StubHub, you are being duped.
After announcing the free streaming, staffer Benji Bronk announced his displeasure that his girlfriend, Elisa Jordana, who has been on the show and featured as Miss Howard TV previously, was not on the invite list. Howard immediately turned off Benji’s mic and told him to talk to Gary about it, but when he brought it up again later in the show, Gary came into the studio and asked that Benji leave. He didn’t, but Benji was not on the “Wrap-Up Show” immediately after.
Encore presentations of “Howard Stern’s Birthday Bash” will air on Monday, February 3 beginning at 6:00 am ET on Howard 100 and 6:00 am PT on Howard 101 and through the free stream at siriusxm.com. Immediately following this replay, “Howard Stern’s Birthday Bash” will be available on SiriusXM On Demand for subscribers listening via the SiriusXM Internet Radio App for smartphones and other mobile devices or online at siriusxm.com.
