Adult Swim looks to have another homerun on their hands. Aron McGruder, creator of “The Boondocks” animated series is debuting the live-action series, “Black Jesus,”.
McGruder said in a statement. “It’s a rare thing to have a network home,” “Even more rare is a home that wants to see you grow and expand as a creator. Adult Swim is headed to new horizons and I’m happy to be along for the ride.”
“Black Jesus,” is scheduled to premiere next month. The series follows Jesus through the hood of Compton as he spreads the good work. There is a veteran cast of top African American comedic actors signed to the project. As you can see below “Black Jesus” looks to be another hit for Aron McGruder.
