SONY has adamantly stated that they will not be releasing the controversial film, The Interview. Word out of SONY headquarters is the film has been shelved. Does this mean we will never see the film? Voices from the film industry to the corridors of political power have called for SONY to release the film for free. Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney said SONY should offer the film online for a $5 donation to Ebola research. I don’t know what Ebola has to do with North Korea but what the hell I would cough up $5.
With the film being shelved, copies are showing up on torrent sites for illegal download. Before you desperately head to these sites take heed. These copies of The Interview for download or free streaming are nothing but viruses and spyware. No legitimate copies of The Interveiw have been reported to be found on any of the torrent sites by any of the sites tracking these stats.
Producer Judd Apatow tweeted “I think it disgraceful that these theaters are not showing ‘The Interview.’ Will they pull any movie that gets an anonymous threat now?” James Franco and Seth Rogen have been pretty quiet on the subject. However I am sure they want their work to be seen. If you are chomping at the bit to download The Interview, my suggestion is to sit tight. The Interview will be available for download or streaming either free or for a small fee soon. There is no way SONY is going to let the most talked about film in recent history go unwatched. If not Judd Apatow, James Franco and Seth Rogen will find a way to get it to their fans.
The 3 Stooges took on Adolph Hitler in You Nazty Spy. Charlie Chaplin kicked Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini in the teeth in The Great Dictator. Don’t expect Hollywood to roll over for Kim Jong-un. The Interview will be be available for download or streaming either free or for a small fee soon. Mark my words. Until then just enjoy The 3 Stooges in You Nazty Spy
