It appears that we now view Major League Baseball in the same vein as
wrestling and football. At least, in regards to steroid and HGH abuse.
Nothing else can explain how Manny Ramirez, suspended for 50 games on May
7th, can be ranked 4th for outfielders in the National League in All-Star
voting, only 34K votes behind 3rd place vote getter, Carlos Beltran.

Now, the voting is still early, and actually goes for several more weeks
before it’s finalized, but the early trend is disturbing.

The love my boy Ibanez isn't getting is criminal.
I'm going to vote for him just to see what MLB does if he gets selected.
They won't do anything if he gets selected by the fans. The union will have a collective stroke. Until MLB gets the clause put in the collective bargaining agreement, there's nothing they can do.

What Manny needs to do is remove himself from voting so more deserving players can be voted in. That would be a win-win situation. It would make Manny look good, and save MLB from what will be a terrible situation.

Not to mention the fact that we don't need All-Star weekend to be "All Manny, all the time", which is what it would turn in to.
A player acting for the good of something other than themselves? Hmm, seems odd.

That's more like it. I think there was a surge of votes after they made a big stink of Manny getting all those votes... or MLB is rigging it.

Are you serious? We are talking about Manny Ramirez.
