There have been a few times I've wanted to post something on baseball, but there wasn't an existing thread to post to... so here it is.
Fucking Phillies
Wow, that's really putting it out there. Please, don't hold back. Tell us how you really feel!

Its not that they're blowing these late leads, its that they blow the lead, go into a few extra innings, then blow the game again.

Last night the tying and winning runs were walked in.
So just to be clear, you're saying they blow?

By the way, I went to the game on Friday night against the Sox. The extra innings game that the Sox won in 13. Great game. Phillies struck out 20 times. Never seen that before, even over that many innings.

No, they are the World Champs, they don't blow. I'm politely asking them to lose their games in 9 innings if they're going to lose.

That game you went to sucked, BTW.

I think the umpire was nuts for not reviewing that foul ball / HR call in the 11th. If he did, he surely would have called it a HR and ended the game.

How the hell do you not review such a close call at such a pivotal moment in a game when you have the ability to? Makes no sense to me at all. Wouldn't you WANT to make sure you got the call right???

And this is coming from a die-hard Sox fan!

Thanks for fulfilling my request, guys.
Hola Pedro!

Pedro signs one-year deal with Phillies

Quote: ST. LOUIS -- Pedro Martinez has signed a one-year contract with the Phillies, baseball sources confirmed Tuesday.

Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. declined comment just hours after Martinez passed his physical in Philadelphia. But one source said the contract is worth about $1 million, plus about $1.5 million in incentives, which is less than the prorated $5 million contract Martinez reportedly had been seeking earlier this season.

A news conference is scheduled Wednesday.
