...and it's not even Gibsonesque.
Oh...2006 or so, I was madly in love with my 1st wife and she, with me. She was interested in all things Brandon (and some of those things...good god...lol) and one day, we made a trek to Moze Guitars in La Mesa, CA, where we were both stationed. Of the many fantastic things I bought at that store, one was a purple Yamaha RGX Custom. I'd remembered reading about these things as a pre-teen/early teen, grabbing up all the free catalogs I could find. Yamaha, like Ibanez, was a pioneer in a lot of ways, yet always played 2nd fiddle to Ibby-I always figured it was the industrial stigma attached to the name, much in the way you wouldn't buy a Daewoo piston-driven AR (those are awesome, too). In the same catalog graced by the AES2200 (one of my bucket list geets), there was also a throughneck, carved top Superstrat that immediately grabbed my attention for several reasons, foremost of which being their proprietary double locking trem with a height-adjustable locknut and Floyd which pivoted on sealed ball bearings as opposed to knife edges, which eventually mushroom and won't return to zero.
Needless to say, there was only one person in the house who actually played it: me. A couple years go by, the marriage ends, and she keeps it, claiming it's hers and I let her have it. It's haunted me, ever since, especially knowing she immediately gave it to her worthless shitbag brother.
Well, bitch, fuck you.
Incoming. You cunt.
