I know, I know, I know. I need a new amp like I need another shot of whisky....Hey, that reminds me...lol. Anyways, I just couldn't resist. You know, it's funny. It seems like everytime Gearjoneser or myself are thinking about buying something....we call each other up and get each other's opinions, or validation or whatever you want to call it. 90% of the time it is a "hell yeah, run over there right now and get it before someone else does." We both always seem to get great deals on guitar gear. Well, for $350 I could not resist. Hell, used ones one Reverb.com are going for between $800 and $1000. I just figured I could not lose on this deal for what I paid.
I bought the amp from some dude in his early 60's or so, and that kind of tripped me out. He said he bought it new from Musicians Friend for $699, and he had priced used ones at Guitar Center for $700 before placing it on Craigslist. I'm not trying to brag about money or anything by any means, but I do like to brag about the deals I get on stuff.
Thusfar, I have only played through it for about 10 minutes, and that was yesterday evening when I bought it from him to make sure everything works. I can tell you this; I was completely blown away by the clean tone just after playing through it for only a couple of minutes. It has such a great chime to it which is almost Fenderish. The distorted channel had this sweet melodic tone to it that I thought sounded great. Mind you, I have only played through this amp for only about 10 minutes thusfar.
Shortly, I will be going in the kitchen and cranking it up on my regular 7/7/7 settings like I did yesterday, and adjust from there. Seeing also as how the amp has a Celestion Vintage 30 1x12 speaker in it, I will later on disconnect it and run it through my other latest acquisition.....The oversized Vintage 30 loaded Blackstar Series One 4x12 B cabinet.
Well, I'm gonna hit some more whisky for a few, get loaded up, and crank it up with my Seymour Duncan AHB-1 loaded Charvel San Dimas Style 2 2H guitar here in a few.
Oh yeah, it's not that bad of an amp to tote around either. It's probably around 40 pounds, and is 19" wide/20" tall/11" deep.
I apologize for the crappy cell phone pics.

That's cool man. Good deal!
Sunday I'm going to find my way out to Tennessee and we will have an amazing booze fueled weekend.

Happy new amp day dude.
