I'm seriously considering a Win7 reinstall.

It will have to wait until week after next, though.
I need to figure which other softwares I need to backup, too.

I hoping the hardware drivers will reinstall as well.

lreese - I was working on a computer a few years ago that was just disgusting inside, it didn't have fungi growing but it was so caked with crap, it was nuts. I'll have to find the pictures.

As long as you can get it to boot to Windows and get online, you'll be fine. It should search out the newest drivers and install them.
This morning a friend offered to clean it up for me and to trouble shoot the system.

At this point I believe it may be a combination of a virus attack and hardware failure. :(
Now I need to backup critical files again, and make a list of the programs that need to be reinstalled. Then I need to find the disks.
You should never let windows install drivers for anything.

I've never had any serious issues when I have Windows install drivers.
My guy will wipe the HDD and reinstall everything, then he'll let t run for a couple of days to make sure it's laugh
