TMR Zoo Message Board - Bass rig acquisition part 2

Well they're just on layaway right now (because they aren't cheap at all) but they are definitely mine. Bergantino lightweight cabs - one with 2 10" speakers and one with a 12", both with their own tweeters. These things sound fucking fantastic. There's a reason that this rig would cost $1800 new plus shipping. Part of it is their weight - one is 33lbs and the other is 28lbs, so they basically weigh nothing. Plus, for how small they are, they can really push some fucking air. And on top of that, they just sound fantastic. I can't wait to get them home and start searching for an amp to really push these bad boys.

Those little TC electronic heads are pretty spanky and cheap , friend got the combo version of it and it is smoking. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/amplifier...s-amp-head used one onsite for $263

I'm actually thinking about getting a Mesa. Their 250w 4xkt88 amp is only 30lbs. GAS

The Prodigy? That thing looks awesome! I can't find a used one yet. That $1800 is going to hurt.

Yeah, its not cheap at all. I might end up getting a 400+. But if I can swing the Prodigy, I might just. Yeah the 400+ has the eq (as does the Strategy, but I don't need that much amp) but its also heavy as hell. And the prodigy has some really nice features.

I used to jam with a bass player that was a much better musician than I could ever hope to be, and he rocked one of these things. Probably the best sounding bass head I've ever heard. He ran through a 2x10 and a 1x15. They can be had for great prices now.
