Isn't Michael Irvin a crackhead how does he warrant a TV show and all of this attention?

Irvin hosts a radio show locally in Dallas these days. He's been pretty clean and knucklehead free for the most part. If you can get him to speak calmly, he tells great stories about his days in football. Problem is he gets excitied and hard to understand at times.

But they make it soooo easy....

(From the Dallas Observer)
Among the Dallas Cowboys' many problems, let's address this one this afternoon:

Terrell Owens and Greg Ellis are captains. Let that sink in a second while I remind you that any team that annoints me-first guys as locker-room leaders is fatally flawed.

We all know T.O.'s agenda. Now, Ellis is at it again.

The other day on 105.3 The Fan he was commencing his annual off-season bitch-fest. In recent years he's complained about his contract, the team's commitment, his position, his role and his everything other than the fact that he's been around forever and never won diddly-poo.

Now? Back to the part about his role.

Seems poor-poor-pitiful Greg doesn't like that Anthony Spencer gets more snaps. Thinks he's mis-used, under-utilized and general prevented from being an All-Pro by the Cowboys' meanie coaching staff.

"Do I think that creates a distraction for guys when they feel like certain players aren't used correctly?" Ellis told Ben 'n Skin. "Yes, I think it does. I think it affects our team. I don't have to throw T.O.'s name into it, because he's a man who can speak for himself. But just my own personal experiences from last year, I'd say 'yes'."

Boo and hoo. Here's a tip: 1. Shut up. 2. Play better. If you need counseling, call the Rangers' Michael Young.

I know Spencer's been shaky on the field and off, but would you guys be sad to see Ellis go?

Betcha a nickel by the time training camp rolls around Ellis somehow finds enough peace and contentment to miraculously drag his 34-year-old body out there to back up Specner with another mediocre 6-sack season.

I'm tired of the Cowboys. I'm tired of Ellis. And don't even get me started on Michael Irvin's fish tale or Martellus Bennett's worst apology ever.

In this case you can't put all the blame on Irvin. He's an attention whore, but the Cowboys had to agree to this.

What's that sound? Oh, its just millions of dollars in endorsements flying out the window:

Quote:Michael Phelps Caught Smoking Pot by British Tabloid

It's probably not what his many sponsors had in mind when they signed him to millions of dollars in endorsements. Swimming sensation and Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps is used to the spotlight, but a photo is providing some unwanted attention.

Phelps has confirmed the authenticity of the photo. Phelps admits to "regrettable behavior" after a picture of the record-breaking swimmer smoking a marijuana pipe showed up in a British newspaper.

It was published by the tabloid, News of The World. The photo appears to show Phelps smoking marijuana at what the paper says was a party back in November.

The 23-year-old promises it won't happen again and admits he demonstrated bad judgment. Phelps says "he engaged in behavior which was regrettable and demonstrated bad judgment." He continues by saying "I'm 23 years old and despite the success I've had in the pool, I acted in a youthful and inappropriate way, not in a manner people have come to expect from him and for this, I am sorry. I promise my fans and the public it will not happen again. "

Some wonder whether Phelps' behavior could jeopardize his lucrative endorsements, but most say it's too early to tell whether his millions in endorsements are at risk.

The US Olympic committee issued a statement saying its disappointed in Phelps's behavior but believes he'll live up to the standards of an Olympic athlete going forward.

The only thing that really bugs me about this is he got a DUI once and his defense then was "I'm 19". So, he hasn't learned anything in 4 years.

Although, he might be in line for a Twinkie or Ding Dong endorsement.

I disagree. If the other businesses don't line up others will... High Times hasn't been around for so long by accident.....

the guy's 15 minutes are almost up, he's a swimmer for fuck's sake... the iron is hot now and the endorsement window is closing very quickly. All he had to do was behave for another year, probably not even that long. There are probably morality clauses in most of his current deals where they can opt out too... deals that "other businesses" couldn't afford.
