Ok, but I really think the shredder is his best shot.

I need detailed instructions on reinstalling chipset drivers.

I'm backing up files at the mo', so ckdsk will have to wait.

Chkdsk is running now, after three failed attempts to force it to run.

Is the PC rebooting before running chkdsk ?
If it isn't try to set chkdsk to run at reboot.

Here's the link for drivers. NO Chipset drivers. Smack Drivers for everything else and firmware updates for your Mobo and Hard drive. There's the Lan driver there too.
There's a System Bios driver file that does this [ This file will automatically self-install after downloading. Restart required ]
Firmware/bios updates are more critical.

Do you have an installation disk for the PC or are there drivers on the PC In Program Files /Drivers [ maybe dell / drivers  ] ?

I had to set it to run at startup 3 times before it did.

It seemed to be running better this week. Just now I got another BSOD:

RE: LesStrat's Computer Saga: Episode 4378 - LesStrat - 11-07-2015

Anyone have an interpretation of the latest crash message?

RE: LesStrat's Computer Saga: Episode 4378 - Dr. Vegetable - 11-07-2015

I think 0x0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000A is the exception code, which would tell you at a very low level what the fart smelled like.

The BSOD says it created a crash log. Any chance you could find that?

Not without directions.

Yes, a man just asked for directions.
