NFL Preseason Week 3 Preview - Hooch - 12-22-2008

Its funny that this thread keeps popping up. I do have to admit to being wrong to two things from early-on in the season though. I was wrong about the AFC versus the NFC and I was wrong about the NFC East.

The NFC is not the kid brother of the AFC... after watching this weekend, the NFC is the infant son of the AFC. There is no comparison. The two wildcard teams in the AFC will be better than all playoff teams in the NFC.

The NFC East is not the best division in football... it is the most embarrassing. It probably has the most talent in a single division in the league, and the least amount of heart.

I don't agree at all. I'm no Giant fan but I think you are short-selling the Giants. They have the running game that can win them another Super Bowl. At this point of the year you have to be able to run the football. They can do that with Jacobs. I liked what I saw from Carolina last night too. I think you are correct in those comments about the other 3 teams in the east because they have underachieved. I think the problem is they all play each other and something has got to give.

I hate to say it but E.S. is correct;) ALL of the NFC east teams have the running games that are needed to win the Superbowl, but you MUST stay healthy, you must have a decent QB, & you must be able to STOP the run.
They all have heart, but the Gmen are probably the healthiest right now & did not quit last night when DeAngelo could not be stopped.

Dallas doesn't have the same running game w/o Barber. Choice is good but I'm not sure he can get those hard yards late in the game like Barber. Philly just refuses to run for whatever reason. But that's been going on for years there.

Someone has to play the game, may as well be The Dolphins.

Ricky & Ronnie, Limited injuries, Most accurate QB in the league, killer run defense, I smell a Superbowl.
