RE: Peavey Windsor to JCM800 Conversion. - GoldenVulture - 05-19-2016 This is good to hear. Blow the roof off. :toast: RE: Peavey Windsor to JCM800 Conversion. - karpathion - 05-19-2016 As soon as my neighbor goes to work, I'm cranking that bitch to 11! RE: Peavey Windsor to JCM800 Conversion. - GoldenVulture - 05-19-2016 I hope your speakers have plenty of head room , that could possibly peak out at 150 watts or so. I wouldn't be surprised if it delivered more than 100 watts RMS RE: Peavey Windsor to JCM800 Conversion. - karpathion - 05-19-2016 With the outer 2 tubes pulled and biased 25w per tube, it should be about half of that I thought? I don't know what really happened, but the MV is much more controllable now. It doesn't get out of hand untill about 10-11oclock. The power tubes start to break up at about the same. Once you get around 1oclock the power tubes are taking over, and there is little to no high gain hiss at all. With the pre gain set to about 1o'clock, you are getting some nice feedback when you take your hands off the strings, at this volume. If you give in to temptation and forget you have ear drums, turn it on up to about 3oclock or more. All you can say is, Holy Shit!!! The preamp is about about useless, and you gain no more volume after 3oclock, but the power tube distortion gets thicker and thicker as you go. It starts to brighten up a little too, but still sounds fucking great. At least untill my ears took about a 10 minute Pounding. I can't hear shit right now... All I can do is laugh my ass off. RE: Peavey Windsor to JCM800 Conversion. - Oinkus - 05-19-2016 Yeah those things are great but only at the expense of your hearing. Get some good ear plugs , that is why I can hear after using 3 100 watt heads slaved together and 6 4x12 cabs for my original ear bleeder rig.
