I'm feeling a little inspiration.

I got this table saw I bought and have not used... No extra funds to feed it.

1-2 beers while working is fine. Feed me a 12 pack and there would a chainsaw and blowtorch involved very shortly.

Hey Oinkus, you obviously know what's up with this stuff. Give me your opinion on something.

I want to use this same pine for my rear panel and baffle, but all I can get is 12" planks. Do you think gluing 2 pieces togother to get  24", would hold up for baffle use? I know the titebond seam will not break, but I'm worried about that small section in-between the speakers.

I'm thinking that if it gives somewhere that's where it will crack. Probably just above or below the glue seam. What do you think?

I'm about 99.9% sure it'll be fine. I'd just like a second opinion.

Should be fine , could reinforce it if you feel really uneasy. Don't you want the baffle to be a little thinner then that so it will flex a little ? Are you setting the speakers diagonally apart for more space between them ?

Yeah, I ended up getting the wife to pick up a couple pieces of wood. She was supposed to get a 1/2"x 2'x 4' piece of birch ply for the baffle, and a 3/4" in piece for the rear panel.

She brought me 2, 1/2" pieces...

I'm about to say to hell with it and just use it for the rear panel too. If it acts funny, I can just replace it later. It should be fine.

Both speakers will be closer to the bottom.

I used to have one of these and always thought it was a great design. [Image: sunn-beta-lead-combo-667929.jpg]

I'm too lazy to put that much more effort in to it. Lol!

First SS amp I ever saw and it had 2 channels in the mid 70s was deafeningly loud.

With the help of the paint guy in Lowes, I think I have my stain. This is just a test piece rubbed with a paper towel. The cabinet will look much better with it after it gets sanded and the stain is rubbed on right. The poly or whatever I use to finish it will make the grain pop like hell. I'm liking what I'm seeing so far.

This is closer to what you will see on the finished product.
