RE: LesStrat's Computer Saga: Episode 4378 - GoldenVulture - 12-05-2015 My replaced motherboard has been either losing the wireless connection or bluescreening. It bluescreened twice this morning. RE: LesStrat's Computer Saga: Episode 4378 - LesStrat - 12-06-2015 Don't yank my chain! RE: LesStrat's Computer Saga: Episode 4378 - GoldenVulture - 12-06-2015 Spent the afternoon wiping a laptop and reinstalling windurs. All going except for the wireless. lan connects fine , just not the fukin wireless.
RE: LesStrat's Computer Saga: Episode 4378 - LesStrat - 12-06-2015 Strangely enough my wireless is fine since the fresh start. I'll still swap it out when the replacement arrives. RE: LesStrat's Computer Saga: Episode 4378 - LesStrat - 12-14-2015 We installed the new adapter yesterday. Today I got two BSODs. I ran restore and got it up and running again, but I had to reinstall the adapter driver. Now it won't recognize iphone. ![]() After over 30 minutes it finally reinstalled the phone driver, and the audio is weird again. The windows sounds won't test, but most other audio works. I'm beginning to think I might be better off upgrading to Win10...but I'm still reluctant. RE: LesStrat's Computer Saga: Episode 4378 - GoldenVulture - 12-15-2015 Working fine until the new adaptor went in ? I'd uninstall it and go back to the old one. RE: LesStrat's Computer Saga: Episode 4378 - GoldenVulture - 12-15-2015 Another laptop reloaded with Windurs. No problems and back at the customers. It turned out that this one was fine. The wireless worked back at the customers home. Quote:Spent the afternoon wiping a laptop and reinstalling windurs. All going except for the wireless. It also turned out that the Laptop is working better than it has for years after a few OS reloads and peoples attempts at " fixing " it. RE: LesStrat's Computer Saga: Episode 4378 - LesStrat - 02-19-2016 The new wireless adapter did not solve my BSOD problems. I went a couple of weeks with NO problems, then got another BSOD last week. I decided to reseat the RAM. The next day when I tried to turn on the PC I kept getting a "2 beep" alert and no startup. I checked it a couple of times. I moved RAM around. I took one out. I took 3 out. I left it alone, then researched new laptops. The next day I took the beast out again, laid it on the couch, and PRESSED on the RAM. Turned out it wasn't seating. ![]() I thought it was going in too easily. :( RE: LesStrat's Computer Saga: Episode 4378 - GoldenVulture - 02-27-2016 (02-19-2016, 07:11 PM)GoldenVulture Wrote: I got myself a new wireless adaptor a while back. No more Blue screens or dropped connections since. Would you believe it? Not long after I posted this the wireless adaptor started failing to initialize at boot up, or connect at an odd or slowed connection speed, Alternatively it has been suddenly dropping the connection. ![]() Did it twice earlier. |
