1979 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe - Oinkus - 08-17-2017 Just started on it , put the Babicz Bridge and Planet Waves Tuners and some Dunlop Straplocks. Pretty nice they had the pickups almost touching the strings for some stupid reason? https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipNhUCBBAZsQuvbBxoZyqAIiv67cHHs4XcPqtmFqupAmIBlNFxECKz-soSHaYX1MnA?key=eEVTamRVaEJoRVl6M3RPQ1NmOHdGU3RLVWhlYjZ3 Trying to link to google photos someone tell me if you can see it ? RE: 1979 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe - lreese - 08-17-2017 RE: 1979 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe - lreese - 08-17-2017 ^ Think its just a case of having to click on each image and grabbing the address from that. Google Images is like that too. RE: 1979 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe - Oinkus - 08-17-2017 All I get is crazy giant addresses no pics? Tried dragging it here oh well you can click the link and see the pics. I love me some mini humbuckers they are such fun ! Getting some big fat Jumbo SS frets next week , got it all setup nice plays great. First 4 frets are chewed up and the first fret has almost zero metal left. Still plays without any buzzing though. More guitars to follow , I think I will be getting a SG and a Fender 5 string on Sunday too for upgrades and etc... 5 instruments in one week should buy me a 1TB SSD > RE: 1979 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe - Securb - 08-17-2017 Fuck I am in love RE: 1979 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe - Oinkus - 08-17-2017 It is really nice Bruce with the tone all the way up it is sharp and crisp and the neck pup just chimes wonderfully. Minis are not the same monster as singles or humbuckers at all. I have the Standard and Studio laying here on the floor but not breaking them out until tomorrow. I did fire up the Marshall DSL 40c with the Celestion Creamback from Sweetwater and that is one good sounding one speaker combo , will be better when the speaker is broken in and I retube it. Not in the 21st century yet no usb jack geez , was going to plug laptop in it and play music all day. Have to do it with a 1/4" adapter der? The paint is in great shape on the Deluxe very black and shiny still with only a few nicks and scratches. My 81 Custom is kind of off-greenish not really black at all anymore. RE: 1979 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe - Oinkus - 08-18-2017 Just did some research and this Standard was played by Gene Simmons at some event and I would say it is really only worth around $1400 at most. Setup with pretty low action have not plugged it in yet. Pics to follow. He was lucky they mispriced it and he got it for $1000 less than the asking price.Got to go over the 03 Standard and the 09 Studio and I have talked myself out of $400 , going to tell him to leave them just like they are. Marshall sounds much better with new set of JJs no clue why they put cheap chinese crap in them to start with ? Oh wait , they do it for money !!!
