Sign of the Times - Gator - 09-08-2009

A couple of weeks ago I was food shopping with my wife and all of a sudden, over the radio system we start hearing Van Halen's Dance the Night Away. Now, I thought that was pretty wild and progressive for a supermarket music system but went on with our shopping.

Last night, we were in a diffent place, food shopping, and heard Black Sabbath's Paranoid. I know it can't just be that I'm getting old and the music is too. That is still pretty hard stuff for a supermarket.

Does anyone else find this a little strange?

I'll let you know when they start playing AC/DC or Accept.

Van Halen is now on the classic rock station.... the station that used to play cool shit from the late 60's early 70's.... now that's on the oldies station with oldies.

I am so confused.......

AC\DC are already pretty mainstream already, You Shook Me is all over the place. RockBand used Let There Be Rock as the title tune in their commercials. Rock & Roll Train and Hells Bells are played at every fuckin football game I watch. I doubt you will see a Lamisil jock itch commercial with Balls to the Wall anytime soon.
