World Series Preview - Gator - 10-28-2009
It all comes down to this, and itââ¬â¢s really no surprise. The Phillies, the
defending World Series Champions, were favored to go back to the World
Series all the way back in spring training. On the American League side,
it was a tossup between the Yankees and the Boston Red Sox. Always nice
when a plan comes together.
For the Yankees, itââ¬â¢s their first trip back since they beat the Red Sox in
the now legendary 2003 ALCS. You know the one: Thatââ¬â¢s the game that Boston
manager Grady Little left Pedro Martinez in just a little too long, and he
gave up the tying run in the 9th. Then Aaron ââ¬ÅFââ¬â¢nââ¬Â Boone hit the walk-off
homer off of Tim Wakefield in the bottom of the 11th inning.
Ah, but I digressed. This season, we will be treated to an offensive
slugfest. We will have the number one offense in the American League
against the number one offense in the National League. We will have the
Philadelphia Philliesââ¬â¢ powerhouse Ryan Howard (45 HR, 3st in NL) against
the New York Yankees powerhouse Mark Tiexiera (39 HR, 1st in AL). Those
two should set all kinds of records in the next ten days. Howard, along
with Yankeesââ¬â¢ third baseman Alex Rodriguez, has already tied the record
for consecutive post-season games with an RBI (8), with Lou Gehrig.

I wouldn't say the Phillies shit all over the Yanks last night, but it certainly was a wet fart:shifty::mad:

Game 4, > how many Phillies fans wanted Cliff Lee to pitch instead of Blanton.
He held them down pretty well after the first inning, it was lights out Lidge that blew it. Good luck tonight.

That stupid defensive shift blew the lid off of the game. Damon stealing second, then third was huge. The Phils shit the bed defensively in that last inning. If they held the Yanks in the 9th, I had no doubt they would step up in the bottom of the inning to win.
Your text came thru as I was on my way home. As I have mentioned in some other threads, I have shitty reception at the sports complex. You were probably not there yet when we left anyway.

We partied during the early games & were able to watch 3 quarters of the late games before we left, I was hoping your crew did the double header.
By the way, I think half of the fans stayed for both. We drove right through, no traffic at all, parked in the Linc & walked across the street, no lines to speak of, only some hot drunk chicks following us chanting PHUCK NEW YORK!!

I have to agree, Lidge took out Matsui & Jeter, I though it was over. Damon had a great at bat, & that was the weirdest play, I couldn't tell what happened exactly, it just seemed like he should have been in a rundown, but the guy had a brain fart, nobody on 3rd & he didn't chase him down.. I thought he would walk Tex, but nailed him,,,somebody is going to be target practice tonight.:eek:

I hear ya! I felt pissed when Blanton beaned Arod, I had a jerk reaction & yelled "BULLSHIT!", three guys & a chick turned around & said he phuckin' deserves that, he is a proven cheater! I just shrugged my shoulders & started drinking my beer...but it could have easily been a brawl if I decided to make a ridiculous arguement..
