It's on!

Discuss the 2010 Baseball season here... Philly was nice and let New York borrow the trophy for the year.

Is it too early to give the NL Cy Yung Award to Roy Halladay?

2010 MLB Season - Hooch - 04-17-2010

interesting way to end the week in the Double Play Contest... the top teams, Phillies and Dodgers, scored a combined 1 run in the final day of the week.

Senator calls for boycott of Arizona All Star game

Quote:Sen. Robert Menendez is urging the Major League Baseball Players Association to boycott next year’s All Star Game in Phoenix over the recently passed Arizona law to crack down on illegal immigrants.

The New Jersey Democrat says in a letter that 27 percent of Major League players are Latinos and they shouldn’t be subjected to a law Menendez says codifies racial profiling.

Rep. Jose Serrano, a New York Democrat, has similarly asked the players to boycott the 2011 event, noting that in 1993 the National Football League rescinded its offer to host the Super Bowl in Arizona because it didn’t then recognize Martin Luther King day.

Players Association Executive Director Michael Weiner has come out against the law, saying it could negatively impact hundreds of players.

I think this is going to be the subject of my next column. The governor of Arizona wrote a very interesting letter to all sports fans over the weekend addressing this issue, explaining her side of it.

It was quite compelling, hearing it for the first time and really hearing the other side for the first time.

Bottom line is 80% of the people in AZ want the law. 60% of the people in the country agree with it. You can't start boycotting other states because you don't like their politics.

What is next? Can the bible belt states boycott MA because they allow gay marriage? See how stupid this is. It went to the people for a vote, the people spoke with their votes. It can't get anymore fair. This is over.

Some states tried to do that in the 1860's.
